Eagle Eye
Jerry Shaw (Shia LaBeof),
is an amiable slacker with an over-achieving twin brother. After his twin dies in an accident, strange things happen to Jerry at a dizzying pace: a fortune shows up in his bank account, weapons are delivered to his flat, and a voice on his cell phone tells him the police are on their way. Jerry follows the voice's instructions, and soon he and a woman he's never met are racing through the city, on to a plane, and eventually to the Pentagon, chased by the FBI. She is Rachel Holloman (Michelle Monaghan), a single mom; the voice has threatened her son's death if she doesn't cooperate. The voice seems to know everything. Who is behind it, what is being planned, and why Jerry and Rachel?
I am Legend
Starring Will Smith and directed by Francis Lawrence,
"I Am Legend" lived up to its title. With numerous locations throughout New York City, some shots were so extravagant and extraordinary that they received global media coverage. The HR operations of Orlando, Charlotte and Los Angeles all contributed to the challenging requirements of "I Am Legend," transporting gear by the droves to NY. In one famous scene, the production actually closed down the Brooklyn Bridge at night. The Hollywood Rentals image portfolio includes many stunning shots of these massive sets and locations.
IronMan
"Heroes aren’t born, they’re built" was the tag line to this popular film. Directed by Jon Favreau and starring Robert Downey, Jr., Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow, "Iron Man" began and ended photography at the 700 ft hangar and spacious grounds of Playa Vista Studio (managed by Raleigh Studios). Numerous units and rigging crews took Hollywood Rentals and Olesen all across the state of California and into Nevada – from Lone Pine to Long Beach; from the Willow Film Ranch to the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch creating impressive rigs and sets.
IronMan 2
This "Iron Man" sequel is currently in production at Raleigh Studios Manhattan. Hollywood Rentals firsthand experience coming soon!
Jonah Hex
"Jonah Hex" stars Megan Fox, Josh Brolin and John Malkovich, and was directed by Jimmy Hayward. This film started shooting on the Hollywood Rentals campus in Sylmar, CA, when the production needed a facility to accomplish their camera test. In the 4,000 square foot interior stage at the HR facility, Olesen crew constructed a 19’ x 20’ x 20’ ground support truss system for the "Jonah Hex" special effect camera tests. Hollywood Rentals provided parking for movie trailers, a 45-foot grip truck, stunt crew trailers and 35 cast and crew members for the one-day job. Following the test, the feature landed in Baton Rouge, where Hollywood Rentals fully serviced the show.
A Night at the Museum 2
Hollywood Rentals serviced the production of "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" in the heart of tourism in Washington DC staying on site working around a constant flow of 5,000 spectators. The film’s grand exteriors made it necessary for two units to work around the clock, pre-lighting and lining the Mall of Monuments with thousands of feet of cable. In this particular location, and in just three short days, production worked its way from the National Air and Space Museum all the way to the steps of the Lincoln Monument. "NATM2" was directed by Shawn Levy and stars, of course, Ben Stiller and Amy Adams.
The Happening
Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring Mark Wahlberg, "The Happening" was shot at a dozen locations in and out of the Philadelphia area. Hollywood Rentals provided full production support for the film from load-out to load-in, and all through the hefty shoot schedule, both the production and crew were skilled and professional. New England is no stranger to HR Charlotte but this production introduced the company to some particularly great crew members. While many of the shots were tough exteriors, the crew provided one of the cleanest and complete returns HR Charlotte can remember.
